Children Need to Chew!
If you look back at photos of cavemen, what’s one thing they all have in common? Strong jaws. Most children these days no longer have strong jaws, because they aren’t chewing.
Children are growing jaws and building a face. They need to be eating foods that require them to really chew – no apple sauce pouches, pancakes, McDonald chicken nuggets etc. We want to help them get their muscles working and stimulate bone growth.
This can start as early as 6 months! If you have not heard of Solid Starts, I highly recommend you give them a visit. They offer practical ways for you to introduce a variety of solid food to children as early as 6 months.
